Have you dreamed of going on a bicycle tour? Our bicycle touring series covers the many options of touring by bike from a beginner’s to an advanced cyclist’s point of view.

eDSC_0653-100dpiJanuary 09 – Basic Bicycle Touring:  Ron Monroe and Tom Bilcze share their experiences of cycling the Great Allegheny Passage and Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Trails. These trails provide the beginner bicycle tourist an excellent chance to give touring a try. Tom and Ron will talk about planning the tour, the styles of touring, the gear you need, the support you find along the way and the sights you will see.

January 30 – Organized Group Bicycle Touring:  Jane Wolfe and Dale Mastin share their experiences of cycling the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) and the Erie Canal Ride, organized group bicycle tours. These rides give the bicycle tourist a chance to enjoy seeing new sights and places while letting the organizers handle the planning an logistics. Dale and Jane will talk about preparing for the ride, what to expect on the ride, and the enjoyment of life on the bike for a week.

3059161558_3b25a9d59c_oFebruary 13 – Advanced Solo Bicycle Touring: Marty and Edie Cooperman, seasoned World traveler bicycle tourists, share their experiences of long distance self-supported bicycle touring. Edie and Marty spent two weeks cycling Croatia in late 2015. They have numerous adventurous bicycle tours under their tires. They will talk about planning for tours longer in duration and in faraway places, share how they handle the logistics of the ride, and talk about experiencing foreign culture from behind the handlebar.
